There have been several new books and cd compilations that touch on the D.I.Y. ethic. Most of these books concentrate on the scenes in New York, L.A., or England. The Midwest Flyer Project is pretty self explanatory. We're trying to fill a void and document the Punk/New Wave scene in the Midwest during the seventies, eighties, and early nineties. New Wave! Hooray. I said it. Get over it.

The first order of business will be to get the on-line archive up. We need your help. Untill then we've got a lot of scanning to do.

The ultimate goal here is to publish a hard copy if we can compile a large enough body of gig flyers and the interest and quality is there. Find out how to contribute.
